Spain will demand that Germany should fully recompense for the damages incurred by spreading false information about allegedly E. coli-contaminated Spanish vegetables.
This came in a statement earlier today by the Spanish Minister of the Environment, Agricultural and Marine Resources, Rosa Aguilar Rivero, in an interview with the Financial Times British daily.
According to the official, Spain will submit its demand during the meeting of EU Agricultural Ministers that’s due in Luxemburg later this Tuesday.
The spread of the deadly E. coli strain in Europe caused Russia’s consumer watchdog to slap a provisional ban on all EU vegetable imports to Russia from June 2nd .
