Torrential rain submerges paddy fields in Kanyakumari, India

Paddy cultivated on hundreds of acres in the district is under water as rain continues in Kanyakumari district for the second successive day on Sunday.The Pazhayaar flood has surrounded several residential areas and the paddy fields close to the watercourse and most of the irrigation tanks in the district are overflowing. Discharge of water from Petchipaarai and Perunchaani dams has been stopped following widespread rain. Source
