Firefighters are battling two fires near Denmark and have issued an emergency warning to residents north-west of the town.
Residents near the blaze in Somerset Hill have been told to leave immediately for a safer place, as the fire is now a threat to lives and homes.
A separate fire burning north-east of the town began as a prescribed burn on Monday that was supposed to be finished by yesterday morning, but went out out of control yesterday afternoon when winds picked up before it had burnt out.
The fires are continuing to spread steadily in a southerly direction as wind conditions worsen.
Local resident Carlene Webster says she is concerned the fire is getting too close and has decided to leave.
"I've got my photos and my computer and just packing some clothes," she said.
Farmer Tony Pedro says the fire is heading for the northern boundary of his property, east of Denmark.
He says he is preparing to stay and defend his home but has criticised the timing of the prescribed burn.
"We're constantly being told on the radio that you don't light campfires, you don't use a grinder you know you're really careful and yet we've got the Barnett Government rushing around in helicopters dropping fire bombs," he said.
"We've got aerial burning imminent signs scattered around a district. It's like living in a war zone."
