June 3, 2011TOKYO - A 6.5 earthquake has struck just off the coast of Sendai, north of Tokyo. The quake struck at a depth of 31 km and preliminary tsunami warnings were issued. The seismic turbulence around the Japanese Islands has continued almost unabated since the March 11, Tōhoku 9.0 earthquake killed over 20, 000 people.
