A massive volcano has been erupting in Chile since June 4th. The eruption continues and the massive ash cloud is now shutting down airports as far away as Australia and New Zealand.

It was generated on 6 June using data from the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer on the MetOp-A satellite and represents sulphur dioxide concentrations within the full vertical column of atmosphere.
