Storm alert for northwest Queensland

A SEVERE thunderstorm warning for residents in northwest Queensland has been cancelled.

The Bureau of Meteorology said the immediate threat of severe thunderstorms had passed, but they would continue to monitor and issue any further warnings if necessary.
