Heavy rain hits the North Island, New Zealand, Causing Road Closures
The front that extreme weather has now shifted to the Bay of Plenty where residents can expect torrential downpours through the night.
Nearly 30 roads in the Far North were either closed or partially closed after torrential rains swept through overnight.
Northland has had heavier than average rainfall this month but the region has seen worst in the past.
The weather is the worst rain Tauranga has seen since the massive storm that hit soon after the Rena stranded, and today residents were preparing to release 46 little blue penguins rescued after the disaster. Source
