June 12, 2011 – ETHIOPIA – A 5.4, 5.1 and a 5.0 magnitude earthquake by a swarm of nine other quakes has struck the Eritrea region of Ethiopia along the Great Rift Valley at a depth of 10 km. The quakes are occurring near the vacinity of the Nabro volcano. The volcano has not erupted in recorded history. Are we on the verge on an event? Meanwhile, the rift is tearing Africa apart. Eventually, as the rift deepens and widens, surrounding waters will rush in to create a new gulf, or sea, as Somalia will break away from Africa to form the new Somali Plate. See below
