An earthquake struck Tagaytay City before dawn today

Quakes rattle Tagaytay City overlooking Taal volcano in the Philippines

 
Philippines – An earthquake struck Tagaytay City before dawn today, the second tremor detected by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) this week in the city famous for its overlooking view of the restive Taal Volcano. Phivolcs said the quake which measured at magnitude 3.1 was detected at 3:07 a.m. It struck 60 kilometers northwest of Tagaytay City. The quake was tectonic in origin. Phivolcs said the quake is not expected to generate aftershocks. On Wednesday, the city was also hit by another weak earthquake, which measured at magnitude 2.3 in the Richter scale. -Philstar
