Chinese Bribe Reporting Sites Shut Down
And last week, we told you about a number of popular websites that Chinese netizens are using to report bribery. Now they've been shut down.
Websites such as "ibribery.com" allowed users to post stories about corruption -- either the tales of bribes they've paid, or reports of corruption they've seen or heard about. They were getting increasingly popular before Chinese censors suddenly started blocking them.
The Associated Press reported that some webmasters took down their sites after warnings from Chinese authorities.
Widespread corruption has been seen as one of the Chinese communist regime's greatest weaknesses. For now, at least, there's one less tool for keeping track of the problem.
