7 more die in rain-related incidents in Rajasthan

Seven more deaths were reported in rain-related incidents in Rajasthan today taking the toll in the current monsoon season to 15.

Three persons - a couple and their relative - were swept away in a rivulet when their motor-cycle skidded off from the water-logged culvert near Aligarh village in Uniara sub-division of Tonk district late last evening. A 10-year boy, however, was rescued and admitted to a nearby hospital, a report said.

A two-year-old girl died in the Banas river when a portion of earth along the river-bed caved in near Rajmahal village in the same district on Sunday.

Likewise, one person died in a house collapse in Bichpuri Gujran in Sawai Madhopur district yesterday while a youth was electrocuted in Dai town of Bundi district and a six-year old boy swept away in Dehda river near Indragarh, reports reaching here said.

Meanwhile, heavy to moderate rains occurred during the past 24 hours at a number of places, the Meteorology Office here said. Vigorous showers also lashed the capital for the second successive day today.
